A rare Limited Edition by Robert Taylor, signed by 5 Luftwaffe pilots who fought in the Battle of Britain.

This was Robert Taylor's final painting in his 60th Battle of Britain Anniversary trilogy and features a scene from the attacks on the afternoon of September 7, 1940. Led by Herbert Ihlefeld, Me109E's of II/JG2 dive through the bomber formation giving chase to Hurricanes of 242 Squadron as Ju88s of KG30, having unloaded their bombs, head for home. One Ju88 has been hit and is already losing height, and will not return. Following behind He111s of KG53 try to keep formation as they fly through flak. The sky is alive with action.

Condition: this print has two flaws in the border areas. Firstly in the lower right tinted border there are two small indentations, about 1-2 mm each - probably where something has pressed against the surface of the print. They dont really show up in the photo below but the arrow indicates where they are. It is unlikely they would be noticeable if framed behind glass at a normal viewing distance.

Also there is a small mark in the left hand white border, 2-3 mm, about 2cm in from the edge of the print - this would be hidden by framing.

The print has been stored dark and flat, never framed and is otherwise in mint condition and is supplied with the original Certificate of Authenticity. This print sold out some time ago - a secondary market copy would be £350-450. 

It is being sold on behalf of one of our collectors - it carries excellent original Luftwaffe signatures which would on their own be worth more than the asking price.
