A special Battle of Britain collector's autograph display including the original signatures of two opposing legendary fighter Aces: Group Captain PETER TOWNSEND DSO DFC and Major ERICH RUDORFFER Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves Swords and Diamonds.

A desperately close combat between a Hurricane and an Me109 portrayed by artist Darryl Legg at the height of the Battle of Britain gives life to the perilous combats fought between the opposing pilots of the RAF and the Luftwaffe during the defence of Britain in 1940. Peter Townsend commanded 85 Squadron's Hurricanes for more than a year from May 1940, first as a day fighter squadron, then as the first night fighter squadron during the Blitz of London. After many other commands he became Equerry to King George VI in 1944. Erich Rudorffer flew throughout the war achieving 224 aerial victories including 12 flying the revolutionary Me262. The original signatures of these two opposing fighter aces guarantees this ensemble true collector status. The package is completed with all-metal pilot’s wings and replica ceremonial gallantry medals beautifully mounted.
