Evening Reflection by Richard Taylor features Me109s of JG52 during the Battle of Britain.
With soft evening sunlight glinting off the fuselages of their sleek and deadly fighters, Hauptmann Wolfgang Ewald, Gruppenkommandeur of I./JG52, leads a Schwarm of Bf109s back to their base near Calais during the Battle of Britain, September 1940. It has been the final mission of a long, hard day of aerial combat that has witnessed several deadly encounters with the Spitfires and Hurricanes of RAF Fighter Command over southern England. Although they cannot let their guard drop for an instant, the Luftwaffe pilots can, just for a moment, enjoy flying in such a radiant, peaceful cloudscape, and the thought of a good rest. Flying, and action, will inevitably resume in earnest tomorrow.
Each print in Richard Taylor's Limited Edition, Evening Reflections, is signed by two Luftwaffe Aces who flew in the Battle of Britain:
Major HANS-EKKEHARD BOB KC - JG 54
Major ERICH RUDORFFER KC - JG 2.
