Superb Lockheed F-104C Starfighter by CDC Armour Collection (later Franklin Mint) in the makings of a US Air Force aircraft, FG-89, from the 479th Tactical Fighter Wing in 1958.
A substantial and heavy weight die cast metal model with some plastic parts.
A pre-owned model taken in as part of a larger collection of aviation items. This model spent some time in a glass display cabinet before being boxed and put into storage. The model is all intact and in overall good condition. There is some slight decal scratching - the USAF star and bar roundels on both sides are not quite straight and would benefit from being replaced with generally available 1:48 scale kit decals - the model is priced accordingly, a mint example would be £130-160. The original box is in very good condition.
These larger Armour Collection / Franklin Mint pieces are getting hard to find now, they look impressive when displayed and would be a fine gift for an aviation enthusiast.
For transit the original box will be packed securely inside a bigger postal box.
SHIPPING OUTSIDE THE UK
Once packed up securely for international shipping this model will be quite large and heavy which will be reflected in the shipping charges. For the USA the shipping cost is likely to be over £60 and on top of that there may be import duties from US Customs - we have no control over these. For most north Europe locations expect around £25 shipping plus again possible import duties.
We have accounts with all the major couriers and we always check around these for every order to get the best deal as prices change frequently. If you are interested in this model please contact us first so we can give you a more accurate shipping cost before you order.
