Collector's autograph display featuring the original signature of Obert HERBERT IHLEFELD Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords - Luftwaffe Fighter Ace.
The original signature of a highly decorated Luftwaffe Fighter Ace who flew Me109s and Fw190s and later the He162, ending the war with over 1000 missions. Herbert Ihlefeld flew against the RAF in all the early battles of the war, commanded a succession of squadrons and wings, was shot down and survived 8 times, was badly wounded twice yet continued to fly till the war ended. By then he was Kommodore of JG 1 flying the Heinkel He162 ‘People’s Fighter’ and had been highly decorated and credited with 140 air victories. One of the great Luftwaffe fighter pilots.
