Superb Messerschmitt Me262 A-1a by CDC Armour Collection (later Franklin Mint) in the colour scheme of Wolfgang Schenk's 'Black F' flying with 2./EJG2 - Germany, July 1944.
A substantial and heavy weight die cast metal model with some plastic parts.
A pre-owned model taken in as part of a larger collection of aviation items. This model spent some time in a glass display cabinet before being boxed and put into storage. The model is in overall superb condition except that two small central undercarriage doors are missing - not really noticeable when the model is on display but for accuracy should ideally be replaced, spares from a suitable 1:48 scale plastic kit should work well. This fault has been reflected in the price - a mint condition example would be £130-150.
Included is a pair of optional and unused fuselage mounted bombs with bomb racks. The original box is in very good condition with just a few imperfections.
The original internal packaging retaining screw is missing, the model will be well secured in transit by the custom formed polystyrene pieces but care should be taken when opening.
These larger Armour Collection / Franklin Mint pieces are getting hard to find now, they look impressive when displayed, particularly as part of a collection.
For transit the original box will be packed securely inside a bigger postal box.
