Response to Call by Robert Taylor features Hurricanes of 32 Squadron during the Battle of Britain 1940.
You can almost hear the roar of their mighty Merlin engines and feel the prop-wash in Robert Taylor’s commemorative salute to the Hawker Hurricane. His classic portrayal of this much-loved fighter depicts a pair of Mk.I Hurricanes from 32 Squadron leading the scramble away from their forward airfield. Often making three, four or five such scrambles a day at the height of the battle, this time they are racing to intercept Luftwaffe intruders who have been spotted crossing the Kent coast.
Each print in Robert Taylor's Limited Edition, Response to Call - Collectors Edition, is signed by five veterans of the Battle of Britain:
Squadron Leader GEOFFREY WELLUM DFC - flew Spitfires with 92 Sqn throughout the Battle of Britain, he finished the war with 3 victories.
Wing Commander RICHARD ‘DICKIE’ SUMMERS AFM OBE - an Observer on Blenheims with 219 Sqn throughout the Battle of Britain.
Flight Lieutenant TERRY CLARK DFM AE - an Air Gunner on Blenheims with 219 Sqn during the Battle of Britain, he assisted with 6 victories.
