Supermarine Spitfire Mk 1a by CDC Armour Collection (later Franklin Mint) in the colour scheme of legendary RAF 22 Victory Ace Pilot Officer Alan Deere flying with 54 Squadron from RAF Hornchurch during the Battle of Britain, summer 1940.
A substantial and heavy weight die cast metal model with some plastic parts.
A pre-owned model taken in as part of a larger collection of aviation items. This model spent some time in a glass display cabinet before being boxed and put into storage. The model is in excellent condition except for one fault - the RAF roundel decals on both sides of the fuselage are coming away and need replacing with some readily available ones for a 1:48 scale plastic kit. The is reflected in the price, a mint example with no faults would be around £80-90. The original box is in excellent condition.
These larger Armour Collection / Franklin Mint pieces are getting hard to find now, they look impressive when displayed and would be a fine gift for an aviation enthusiast.
For transit the original box will be packed securely inside a bigger postal box.
