Working in the studio of an advertising agency was the starting point for John Young’s lifetime as a professional artist. A founding member and previous Chairman of the Guild of Aviation Artists, John’s paintings have won many prestigious awards. In the first part of the book John Young recounts in detail his experiences, influences and the development of his career as an artist, this section being illustrated with many of his pencil sketches. The latter half is dedicated to colour plates of John’s paintings of which there are nearly 50. Overall the book is produced to a very high standard and is a fitting tribute to John Young’s aviation art. Foreword is by Sir George Edwards OM, CBE, FRS and the Introduction is written by John Blake, a leading member of the Guild of Aviation Artists.
This book was out of print many years ago and is now only available on the secondary market.

Condition: this book is in very good order - its is a book that has been read but looked after carefully. The cloth binding is tight and clean. The dust jacket is good overall with a little evidence of handling. Overall an excellent example of this fine work from one of our most important aviation artists.
