Mounted presentation endorsed with the original signature of the legendary Gerry Anderson on a limited edition postal cover. Released in 2003 to commemorate Gerry Anderson's science fiction productions, this striking cover is in perfect condition and carries a Thunderbirds themed First Class stamp. A limited edition of 1500 were issued. The display is completed with a set of five collector cards featuring the numbers of each Thunderbird craft.

Judged by many to be the pinnacle of Gerry Andersons TV work, Thunderbirds follows the missions of the International Rescue team, a life-saving organisation who use a combination of skill, bravery and advanced technology to perform incredible rescues around the world. The team's secret base is on Tracy Island where they keep their fleet of futuristic machines - the Thunderbirds. Ex-astronaut Jeff Tracy leads the group that is made up of his five adult sons - Scott (Thunderbird 1 - hypersonic rocket), Virgil (Thunderbird 2 - heavy lift, multi-pod transport), Alan (Thunderbird 3 - space rocket), Gordon (Thunderbird 4 - submarine) and John (Thunderbird 5 - orbiting space satellite). The Tracey Island crew also included Thunderbird chief designer Brains, his assistant Tin Tin and her father Kyrano. The team were often ably assisted by beautiful and cool London field agent Lady Penelope, who would glide along in her futuristic six-wheeled pink Rolls Royce driven by her faithful chauffer Parker.

Imaginative storylines, a rousing soundtrack by Barry Gray and special effects that really pushed the boundaries of what was possible at the time, all came together to create a huge hit with audiences worldwide, including for the first time for a Gerry Anderson production, a substantial number of adults. Thunderbirds has become an enduring phenomenon that has stood the test of time.

Gerry Anderson’s career spanned 60 years over which he created and produced some of the world’s most beloved children’s television shows, including Thunderbirds, Fireball XL5, Captain Scarlet, UFO and many more. His first credit as a producer when he was still in his 20s and he had been producing shows for children's TV for several years when his new series, Supercar, finally started him on his journey to become a household name. Written and produced by Gerry and his second wife Sylvia, Supercar was created using a new style of puppetry, Supermarionation - a combination of traditional marionette puppetry but with electric moving parts. This was he first of a series of bold science fiction concepts, each with increasingly sophisticated effects as innovation, technology and budgets advanced. Initially the shows were for children's TV but over the years the target audiences became older. In 1970 his first live action production, UFO, brought with it more serious dramatic elements and a substantially more adult tone.

Gerry Anderson continued to work tirelessly on new projects well into his 70s. His TV shows and films, beloved by millions, are a creative legacy that has left an indelible mark on popular culture.
