Thunderbolt Strike by Robert Taylor features P47 Thunderbolts of the 9th Air Force.
One of a pair (the other being Marauder Mission) of limited editions by Robert Taylor issued to commemorate the Ninth Air Force.
A flight of P-47 Thunderbolts of the 404th Fighter Group, 9th Air Force, clear the target area after a low-level attack on the airfield inland from Havre, Normandy, 1944. Tracer winds up towards them from ground defences and almost all the aircraft have taken hits. Ground-attack pilots went in low, did the job and got our fast!
Robert Taylor's Limited Edition, Thunderbolt Strike, is signed by three P-47 Pilots who flew in combat over Normandy:
General Paul Douglas
General James Hill
Colonel Joe Matte.
Condition: this print has a soft crease in the right side of the bottom white border area. It is about 1 cm in from the edge of the print and runs parallel with the edge for about 10 cm, it is mild and not immediately noticeable - it would be concealed by framing. It is otherwise excellent with strong 'as new' colours, having never been framed and having been stored flat and dark at room temperature. It comes with the original Certificate of Authenticity. Normal price for a perfect example of this print would be £130.
The fault would be difficult to show in a photograph - however the print is covered by our 'No Quibble Guarantee' so if its not as you expected you can return it for a full refund.
