British European Airways Douglas DC-3 in the late 1940s.
The Douglas DC-3 revolutionised air transport in the 1930s and 1940s. Civil and military versions were produced and many are still operating today. BEA operated many Douglas DC-3s, later naming them Pionairs, between its formation in 1946 and disposal of the last in May 1963.
