Released in 1998 this was the first book that showcased the work of leading aviation artist Nicolas Trudgian. The opening section gives an in depth look into the artist and his approach. The majority of the volume consists of reproductions of paintings and pencil drawings introduced by the artist.
A beautifully presented book containing the majority of Nicolas Trudgian’s aviation paintings completed at the time of publication in 1998. The first section is a chronicle of Nicolas Trudgian’s life and career as an artist, by long time friend Martin Sanders. Part two is a description by the artist of how he undertakes a painting. The final section contains analysis by the artist of some 31 of his most important paintings, supported by detail shots, pencil sketches and colour plates of complimentary pictures, altogether 57 different paintings are included.
Overall the book has a very high quality feel with both paintings and pencil sketches reproduced with great clarity and excellent colour.
Condition: this is a rare first edition full size hardback book. The book is in very good condition with just a faint wrinkling of the top of the page edges. The dust jacket is generally good with a little shelf wear and a couple of minor indentations. Overall this copy is a good clean example with no major faults.
