Another fine addition to the growing series of books featuring the work of the world's leading aviation artist, Robert Taylor. A showcase for new images painted mainly between 2005 and 2009. Each section concentrates on one major painting: introduced by the artist and supported by pencil sketches, detail shots and pilot anecdotes. This wonderful, 'coffee table', 128 page book is printed on heavy weight art paper and contains over 70 images reproduced in full colour, supported by a host of beautiful drawings and informative photographs, including many images never previously seen.
This impressive, high quality book is case bound with gold-blocked titling. Experience some of the world's greatest air battles as visualised by the world's master of aviation art, and learn the stories of how these masterworks came into existence.
The book’s Foreword is by film director Peter Jackson, who at the time of publication was planning a remake of the famous Dambusters film. This is followed by a short, three page biography of the artist - a subject that has been covered in detail in previous volumes. The following chapters are dedicated to the paintings and are introduced by the artist.
This is the RAF cover version - there is also one with a USAAF themed cover.
